I love this community but I haven't been looking after it and I can't look after it.

So I'm going to put it up for adoption, in the hopes that maybe someone can.

I'm still willing to help out but RL = SO BUSY and it has not been easing up for me at all.

Firstly I apologise for the unannounced hiatus.

Secondly - how can I keep this place active? Do people want this to stay active?

Part of the reason why I was so keen on fortnightly/weekly rounds is that they match up well making it easy to rotate and it's easy to switch and change prompts if they don't work.

I was thinking it might be easier if the rules changed so that,
Oneshot is greater than 500 words and has the entire month.
Drabble is less than 500 words and has a fortnight, no minimum word limit.

- more than one entry can be submitted but only one can be placed.

- new prompts are selected by voting; when you vote to select the winner you also pick the prompts for the next round from an available list.

There's also the fact that a lot of us write for blind_go and fifthmus and might not have the time to enter something small to the side during those periods... But then again there are people who /don't/ enter those things and would like to have something to do instead.

What would be easier during those periods? I was thinking that a prompt fest might work, only the last time, failed rather spectacularly...

Would it help if it was something completely different? Such as oh... a poetry round? Something like iypoems?

What are your ideas?

Lastly, I've appointed a new moderator, draffyn they will be posting up a voting post quite soon and the new prompts.

Greetings, Salutations and Prepare To Start Running, for I am your new evil overlord tyrant, that has been added to the list.

Now because hng_prompts subscribes to a strange newfangled concept such as democracy it is my reluctant dutiful duty to place the three fics for voting.

Please select one the following!

1. Title: The proof is in my strength: http://community.livejournal.com/hng_prompts/18015.html

2. Title: A spot of trouble on the train: http://community.livejournal.com/hng_prompts/18396.html

3. Title: Leaving Apastron: http://community.livejournal.com/hng_prompts/19252.html

Remember - I choose if no one else votes.

(Banner makers, prepare your Ochi designs.)

For those of you who have forgotten that odd little community located somewhere on your profile, the rules are located in the profile.

New prompt will be coming soon and remember it's still fair game to enter if the voting post hasn't gone up yet.

Apologies I thought I had posted this last night.

Someone very nicely asked for an extension so I'm granting it until November 5th.

This also gives me time to figure out a small logistics problem as well as rewrite a proposal for hng_prompts

You should know the prompts by now. ^_^;;

Just your last chance to get something in, as I'll be putting up the voting post in about 31 hours.

It can be as short as 50 words or as long as you like, there are no limits!
